Gardasil Basics:

Gardasil is a vaccine by Merck & Co., Inc. which has been approved by the FDA to prevent cervical cancer in females between the ages of 9 and 26 years of age.

What Gardasil Is Used For:

Gardasil is a vaccine against the HPV or Human Papillomavirus. The Gardasil vaccine protects recipients against 4 types of HPV, including the two types that cause most cervical cancers and the two types that cause the most genital warts.

IT IS A SERIES OF 3 SHOTS OVER 6 MONTHS AND AVAILABLE NOW in our office. The injections are approximately $200 each. Please call for information concerning scheduling.

What To Expect:

LSH is a minimally invasive hysterectomy that requires 3-4 tiny incisions and has a rapid recovery time -2-3 weeks for most patients. If the procedure is scheduled before 11:00 a.m. in the morning, chances are you’ll be home in your own bed that night.

Procedure Description:

A minimally invasive treatment for heavy periods.

What To Expect:

Remember when you used to call it “your friend”? For many patients, the “friend” is a monthly source of physical and emotional distress. Dr. Evans offers a new fast and minimally invasive outpatient procedure for treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). This procedure is an alternative to hormones or hysterectomy for certain patients and is covered by many health plans.

Preprocedure:

No pre-treatment hormones are required and the procedure can be performed at any time during a woman’s cycle. Under general or local anesthesia an electrode is placed thru the cervix and a radio frequency energy removes the lining of the uterus (endometrium).

Postprocedure:

Most women are able to resume normal activities in a couple of days. This procedure results with most women experiencing light menses and in some women total cessation of menses occurs.

  • 50% of women stop having menses.
  • 40% have improved the menses.
